Legal Secretary
Location: Rochester, Medway
Job Type: Full-time / Part-time positions considered.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and organised Legal Secretary to join our friendly and professional team.
The Role
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to fee earners, ensuring the efficient day-to-day running of the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Audio and copy typing of legal documents, correspondence and reports
- Managing fee earners’ diaries, appointments and meetings
- Opening, maintaining and closing client files in line with compliance procedures
- Preparing court bundles and filing documents with courts and other organisations
- Handling telephone calls, emails and client enquiries professionally
- Undertaking general administrative duties including filing and scanning
- Supporting billing processes and time recording where required
Requirements
- Previous experience or transferrable skills (essential)
- Strong audio typing and IT skills (Word, Outlook, Adobe and case management systems)
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Professional, discreet and client-focused approach
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desirable
- Experience in family / private client / litigation
- Knowledge of legal compliance procedures (SRA, AML, GDPR)
